Data entry typing test

Data entry assessments usually check two things: how fast and accurately you enter numbers, and how fast you type text. This page opens the numpad trainer with real numbers such as amounts, prices and figures. For the text part, take the 5-minute typing test.

What employers look at

Keystrokes per hour (KPH) for numbers; many roles expect somewhere between 8,000 and 12,000.
Words per minute for text; 35–45 WPM is a common requirement.
Accuracy: errors in data cost more than slow typing, so aim for 98% or more.

Requirements differ between employers, so always check the job posting. Practise every day for a week before the test and finish each session with one full-length test.
