Typing games for kids

Letter Rain is a typing game for children and beginners. Single letters fall slowly, and the matching key lights up on the keyboard below. The child presses the key and the letter pops. Press space above to start.

Why it works for kids

One key at a time. No words to read yet, just finding the right key.
The keyboard helps. The key of the lowest letter is highlighted, so a child never gets stuck.
Home row first. The game starts with the middle row of letters, where the fingers rest, then adds the top row and later the bottom row.
Five lives and an easy pace. Mistakes don't end the game; only letters that reach the ground do.

Tips for parents and teachers

Show the child the bumps on the F and J keys: the index fingers rest there. Ask them to keep their eyes on the screen and let the highlighted key guide them. Ten minutes a day is plenty. When letters feel easy, move on to Word Rain on easy mode, or to the typing lessons that teach each finger step by step.

Safe and free

Klava has no ads and needs no account, so kids can start right away. Progress and best scores stay in the browser. The game works in English and 20 other languages, and the keyboard follows the chosen layout.
