The Dvorak Simplified Keyboard puts the vowels A O E U on the left home row and the most common consonants D H T N S on the right, so the hands alternate more and the fingers travel less.
Expect your speed to drop at first. Use type by position to practise without changing your system layout, follow the lessons row by row and take short daily tests. Most people get back to their old speed in a few weeks.
