Practise Russian on the standard ЙЦУКЕН layout. The home row is Ф Ы В А for the left hand and О Л Д Ж for the right, with bumps on А and О. Ё sits in the top-left corner and Э, Ж, Х and Ъ are on the right edge, so the little fingers work harder than in English.
Turn on type by position and press the keys where the Russian letters would be: you do not need to add a Russian layout to your system. The on-screen keyboard shows every letter and which finger presses it.
Start with the lessons, which add keys row by row, then switch to the adaptive mode and the words-with-translation mode to learn common Russian words while you type.
